Chetnole Village Hall is a community resource. It is a home for many activities, all adding a great deal of value to village life. Exercise classes, garden club, art group, coffee morning, post office, concerts, and private functions – all of these things are precious.
Built in 1936, the village hall needs regular maintenance both inside and out to keep it in good condition.
Despite having robust finances for day-to-day maintenance, it was beyond our capability to finance a comprehensive redecoration programme. To try to make this a reality, the Village Hall Management Committee embarked upon various fundraising activities. The response has been fantastic. The National Lottery Community Fund, Crown Paints, and local donations through crowdfunding and other routes all came together to donate all that was needed to redecorate the hall.
The work has now been completed. To celebrate this, an open house reception with complimentary wine and nibbles and live music from ‘Simply Jazz’ was held at the hall on the evening of Saturday 31st January, to express our thanks to our donors and to welcome guests from the local community.
